About Edom

To keep it short and sweet, our aim is to offer a high quality lifestyle experience that will enrich mind, body and soul. Meaningful connections, healthy routines and passionate projects. That’s what we are all about. We envision a space where professionals, creatives and adventurers alike can intersect, sharing their expertise, ideas and passions.

Why

We believe that life is better if we help one another out. If it goes well for the people around you then it’s more likely to go well for you too, right? As they say “What goes around comes around”, so we intend to put as much good out there as possible!

Ultimately, our Coliving venture is driven by the desire to leave a lasting legacy. We seek to impact lives positively, to create memories that linger, and to establish a nurturing space where individuals can thrive. By embracing the principles of community, connection, and elevation, we hope to inspire a new way of living – one that is characterized by genuine relationships, continuous learning, and an appreciation for the beauty of shared moments.

Also, apparently tough times are around the corner so why not help eachother out and flourish instead of barely surviving?

About Your Host

Hey there 🙂

My name is Phillip Thompson, I was born in London and have now been living in Valencia for 18 years. My mother is actually from here so I have been lucky enough to become extremely integrated into Spanish society and culture thanks to family, friends and my natural curiosity.

I have a passion for music, hiking and my cutie of a dog; Nana, and yes, she will be available for cuddles and strokes at the Coliving! I also really enjoy having meaningful conversations with people. That´s one of the reasons why I have enjoyed teaching English to many different people over the years.

Perhaps you may know me thanks to some of my entrepreneurial endeavors such as “Discohike” (a hiking group with a twist) or “Valencia Profunda” (an original concept for a language exchange) which I’d highly recommend, of course. If you have ever been to either, my idea is to continue the same philosophy and vibe at this Coliving. If you haven’t, check them out and come join us one day! Peace out.

Phillip

About The Area

La Cañada is a very peaceful suburb on the outskirts of Valencia, just a 15min drive from the city centre, that has everything you may need; restaurants, shops, pharmacy, bakery, hairdressers, metro station… etc.

Literally just down the road we have the nearest and largest forest area to the city of Valencia called La Vallesa. Ideal for jogging, going for a walk or even having a swim in the river Turia.

Our favorite thing about living here is the peace and quiet. It’s only when you leave the hustle and bustle of the city you realize how nice it is to sleep with almost complete silence or to wake up to bird songs.

Also, there are two metro stops near the Coliving: La Vallesa and La Cañada. Meaning that we are easily connected to the city.

Transport

Even though you may not feel like leaving the house that much, Valencia has a lot to offer. If you have your own vehicle, we have space for up to 6 cars, a couple of motorbikes and some bikes in our private garage. It’s also very safe and simple to park outside the house.

If you don’t have you’re own vehicle here are our solutions.

1) Every co-liver will have access to a bike. This way you can move around the area freely to get to the shops, restaurants or the two metro stops that are just a 5 minute ride away (15 minute walk).

2) We can help you find a good deal for a car/motorbike rental.

3) If planned with enough time, we can take you to or pick you up from Valencia if our timetables align and/or we have organized something together.

“You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Choose wisely.”

FAQ

Location and Accessibility

Where is the coliving space located? Is it in a convenient and safe neighborhood?

We are located in a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood called El Plantio – La Cañada. Just a 15-minute drive to the centre of Valencia and very well located to escape out into nature with ease as we are right next to the La Vallesa forest. This is one of the safest neighbourhoods in Valencia as we have private security that patrols the area and takes less time to show up than the police if an alarm is raised.

What is the proximity to public transportation, shopping centers, restaurants, and other amenities?

We are between two metro stations: La Cañada and La Vallesa. It takes approx 15 minutes to walk there or 5 minutes by bike, and then 30 minutes to arrive at the centre.

There is a bus service that takes 8 minutes to cycle to and, once on the bus,15 minutes to get to the city centre.

We are a 10 minute drive to Valencia Airport (although not on the flightpath).

Just around the corner, we have the El Plantio pharmacy and restaurant.

La Cañada has all the shops and amenities you may need, and also a lovely array of restaurants (traditional Spanish, Mediterranean fusion, Italian, Sushi…)

And as shopping centers go, 4km away we have “Kinepolis” which we would highlight their very new and comfortable cinema.

Yes. We have a large private garage for up to 6 cars, with leftover space for plenty of bikes, scooters, or motorbikes.  There is also a lot of room for storage within the property so just let us know what you need.

Also, as we are located on a very quiet residential street, parking outside the house is absolutely no problem.

Do I need a vehicle?

Not really, although having your own private transport makes life easier, you can move around with no problem without a motorized vehicle. We are happy to help you lease a vehicle if needed.

Do you have bikes?

Yes, we have a few bikes that belong to the house and we can lend you one to move around the area freely.

Environmental Considerations

Is the coliving space designed with sustainability in mind? Are there any eco-friendly features?

100%. As it stands:

–  The house has a rainwater collection system installed that is then used to irrigate the garden.
– We have just started one of three compost heaps, so scraps and organic matter are recycled and put to good use.
– Our vegetable patch, herbs and fruit trees allow us to learn about, grow, and harvest our own produce.
– We use deadwood from the gardens to fuel our two fireplaces or for the BBQ
– We buy as much local, seasonal and ecological produce from local farmers

For the future:

– Install solar panels
– Increase biodiversity by planting more
– Creating bird + bat houses to put around the property
